Three Crowley Maritime Legacy Class Tugs were built at Dakota Creek Industries in Anacortes, WA. The ATB Tug Legend also used CoatinGuard's Ceramic Insulation Coating (CIC) to insulate the heated fuel tank to help maintain temperature and provide personnel protection. A thickness of 80 mils/2mm was applied.

The application was considered an evaluation by Crowley based on recommendation by Dakota Creek’s Ron Daniels, whose extensive experience with the ceramic insulation coating makes him the regional marine expert for using this insulation.
